Printing Machine Operator Job Questions & Answers

I will be moving to Arizona and need a job that pays at least $2,800 per month. I will be going to school part time but currently do not have a degree so I don't have much in terms of "skills". I have been a security guard for about a year now but that doesn't pay enough for me to move to AZ. I have actually been a security guard for just over 1 year. And I have about another 1 year of experience in customer service type positions. I plan to get a certificate in basic accounting within 6 months of moving to AZ so then I will hopefully be able to get a basic A/P or A/R clerk position. I am majoring in Business (emphasis in Accounting).

I have been in the small offset field for over 25 years. I have seen many changes over the last 5-10 years with the advent of digital technology. Now there are fewer jobs for press operators and many shops are even choosing to reduce equipment and staff and farm out much of their work. Is there a future in this business for a top-knotch press operator, or should I consider changing over the next few years? Or, is there a change I can make within the field? Is it possible that my career may continue for the next 20 years? My experience ranges from running little old AB Dick duplicators to a Ryobi 3304 (small 4 color press). What would you say is the future for the small commercial printing business?

For example, for a job that has three parts and only one part requires using the machine,is it best to assign just one operator for all three parts of the job,or two, or three operators (one for each part).(with one operator, the machine will be idle for a while, with three operators, the men will be idle for some time.) i know that i should take into account the operators' wages and the cost of the machine (electricity,...),but what other factors should i take into account?

Quik Prints Company is a small printing and copying firm with three high-speed offset printing presses, five copiers (two color and three black and white), one collator, one cutting and folding machine, and one fax machine. To improve its pricing practices, owner-manager Damon Hastings is installing activity-based accounting. Additionally, Damon employs five employees: two printers/designers, one receptionist/bookkeeper, one sales and copy-machine operator, and one janitor/delivery clerk. Damon can operate any of the machines and, in addition to managing the entire operation, he performs the training, designing, selling, and marketing functions. As Quik Prints' independent accountant who prepares tax forms and quarterly financial statements, you have been asked to identify the activities that would be used to accumulate overhead costs for assignment to jobs and customers. Using your knowledge of a small printing and copying firm (and some imagination), identify at least twelve activity cost pools as the start of an activity-based costing system for Quik Prints Company.

What were the kinds of jobs that people had in the 1960s? Were there any jobs before that isn't available anymore right now like milkmen? I tried searching on google but I couldn't find the information I wanted... Maybe I just can't think of the right thing to type... Please help? Thank you for everyone's answers! I can't choose the best answer since I was able to use a little of everyone's so I'll just leave the decision up to voters... :)

If so, what safeguards can be taken to delete this information? What if it's a copy center? Strange that a person would give such a terse answer and then ask whether I am paranoid. To answer your question, not in the least. Strange that a person would give such a terse answer and then ask whether I am paranoid. To answer your question, not in the least. I'd like to know if I could review the cache - if it's like an external drive I could review or access. I'd also like to know how it's accessed and stored (by date, etc). And if it's ever overwritten.

Are there any methods of printing (images, patterns, etc) onto various shaped plastic products? I know there are many companies that offer promotional products with your logo on them - pens, keychains, letter openers and whatnot - but those are most likely printed during manufacture. I'm interested in laying an image (or pattern, whatever) onto an already made plastic product. For example... a mouse. Or a ball. Or the back of my cellphone. You get the point. If there's any way to achieve this, please let me know what the method is called and maybe even recommend some small-volume providers. Thank you!!!
