As a student now studying industrial design in USA, it's my dream to become a product designer in large companies as Apple, Ikea.

I have my bachelor's in Industrial Design, and I have a job as a product designer. At my job I do a lot of engineering because I design culinary and kitchen products. I'm not exactly happy where I am in my job and see there are more career opportunities for people with engineering degrees vs people with Industrial Design degrees. Most people dont even know what Industrial Design is. Would it benefit to add a Mechanical Engineering degree to my Industrial Design background?

I was originally planning to go to graduate school for human factor psychology to help use psychology to tweak designs etc to fit people's thinking and behavior tentencies, etc. but the whole time i wanted to focus on usability. Anyway i am three semesters away from a BA in psychology and 1. I know i don't want to work as a therapist etc. in the mental health field. 2. I don't want to counsel at all. I am very artistically and verbally inclined and think i may want to be a product designer or industrial designer. is there any way i can go about this without getting a whole new bachelors? Like could i still get a masters in it even without an art undergrad? I don't really have formal art training but i do i have ability to draw and artistic ability etc. could this be a possible career path? how do i know if i should try it even? Is it worth it/could i get a pretty decent salary at this job? also how would i create a portfolio? should i go to post university education even just for that?

As with any job, there are a few exceptions to the rule that people doing that job don't have a degree in the field they're working in. For example: my friend has a computer science degree and is a realtor. I have a natural ability to draw well and enjoy doing it - so much that I want to do it for a living. Going back to school for art is expensive! I already have a B.S. in Business Administration (human resources), but I'm very hestitant about committing 3-4 more years (time and money) to get a degree as a Product Designer, Transportation Designer, or a Digital Illustrator (one of my dreams is to work for Pixar).

People are looking for comparisons between Jobs and other industry luminaries. Like Leonardo da Vinci, Edison etc. While Jobs had great vision he was not so skilled either as a product designer or a programmer, but he had great vision and focus; and lead a team of talented engineers very effectively. Similarly Walt Disney was no great artist but was an effective figurehead and man of vision. Furthermore it is hard to recall any other name associated with Apple or Disney except their founders - despite the obvious talent that lay behind the leaders. Is such a comparison fair? Let me know.

I know that you can get almost any job with a Mathematics degree, and I also that Mathematics graduates have the LOWEST levels of UNEMPLOYMENT, but which jobs can they get exactly? Specific details please? I know that you can be a maths teacher/lecturer, and that's obvious, but I really don't want to go into teaching. I also know that you can have a job in Finance and Accounting, but they are also obvious.

I am wondering what are all the job titles in the AV industry and what kind of training or preparations should I make before attempting to get hired? As I am not a very large man, I am not so interested in being a male performer as long as I can be in the AV business one way or another. Does making the title scenes in a porn video count as a job in its own? What about the people that make the cover art for DVDs?
