I'm 1 year away from finishing my BCom in accounting. I have taken enough project management type courses to fufill the 35 hours and take the CAPM exam. For business work exp I have had a job in budgeting/planning for a real estate/property management company, import/export experience, and my current job is in a procurement department at a large company, in which I work with project managers directly. But without actual project management experience, how do I get a job in project management?

What is worth more - completing an MA or moving to China to become a project manager? During the last 3 years, I have worked to get a master at marketing but while working at the same time. The result is I had a job offer to project manage with my company in Beijing. It's really a great opportunity as I started with the company two years ago at entry level. However my university won't defer my thesis any longer and wants it by the years end. Should I reject the job or the masters?

Our company needs someone to oversee our projects. Should there be a project manager for each industry we deal with? We are a foundation provider and the industries we deal with are: 1) oil and gas 2) electrical and communications 3) industrial and commercial construction 4) residential and municipal We are rapidly growing and require someone to be a mediator for our projects. Is it too much to expect one person to oversee each industry area? Or is the project management role the same no matter what industry you are dealing with?
