 | So, I am a Quality Assurance Analyst with almost 13 years experience. I am bored with Quality Assurance. I can do it with my eyes closed. My question is this: What is the fastest way to get a job doing software development? I have self studied Java and C#. I also have half a masters degree in Computer Science. My undergrad degree is in something other than computers. Do I go for certificates? Do hiring managers look at those?

 | I recently graduated from college and have been working for a few months in QA as an independent contractor. For a certain software project, I am in charge of writing test scripts, testing new features, organizing and administrating regression testing, and making sure the program works correctly in general. My degree is not in software, but it is in a technical field. I've been making $25/hr, but now they're hiring me on full time. I've never had a full salaried job before and am wondering what salary I should expect. Estimates?

 | I am going to major in Information systems management and technology, but recently I've been looking at various job listings and happened to see that most employers want 5+ years of experience----coupled with hundreds of certifications that must be constantly renewed. These demanding requirements have caused me to doubt this major.... Are there any jobs in this field that are easy to break into and do not require so many certifications and experience?

 | I have a Bachelor's degree in computer science. What can I do that isn't strictly programming or software development (it can involve some programming, but not where 100?f your work is coding)? Also what can I do that's outside of the IT industry? And what would I need to have or learn besides my degree to get there?

 | I've been working as a Quality Assurance analyst for 5+ years. However, my company doesn't use any of the Mercury software testing tools. Many QA jobs seem to want candidates to have experience using these tools. Does anyone know of companies that actually train their employees on how to use these software testing tools?

 | I am a recent graduate and I have two job offers.
The first is with a drilling company doing well planning, and the other is with a software company doing quality assurance.
The drilling company pays ~40k with full benefits
The software company pays ~48.5k with full benefits
Both have pros and cons. Just want some other opinions, ideas that I may not have thought of and ect.
Thank You.
