I am attending a business class in college and we are required to design a product that has never been created and write up/present the idea to the class. I am the sole owner of the idea and I was told that there are documents that the other group members can agree to and sign to provide ownership of the idea. I am trying to find these documents due to after the project I plan on creating a patent and manufacturing this product. I am looking for professional advise on this. Please help.

I have a couple of products in mind and want to do some market research by asking some companies (local gyms, physiotherapists and sports retailers) some questions about these products. Right now, they are just ideas so if I go telling these people, do I run the risk of them stealing these ideas and if so, does that mean I have to patent them? And can you even patent an idea?
