I have recently become a mortgage loan officer in the DFW area. There is not a lot of experience in my office. Any advice where I can get assistance to survive this market? I would be happy to learn how to close at least one loan per month then build from there. Thanks for your assistance.

I have been offered a position with a company as a Mortgage Loan Officer. The training is not paid - the commission is 25 percent and there is Marketing dept in house that provided leads and completed the applications for the Loan Officers. How do you feel about the commission rate? If the Marketing dept is taking all the info. from the client - what is left to do besides close the loan? I dont have hands on experience but I do have a college education. I know how I feel about the position . I would like feedback from others that have been or that currently are in the position of Loan Officer. Please share experience with commission only positions as well. Thanks!

I have an interview with a mortgage company tomorrow hiring a loan officer. The owner mentioned he typically hires for commission only, but has in the past and considered a small base salary plus commission to get started. The Economy: Rates are historically low on mortgages, home prices are low, but banks are not lending. Do you think I could make money? I have 7 years sales experience. How much do loan officers make?

His main job has been being a mortgage loan officer for Countrywide Mortgage. Have Pelosi and her son gone to the bankrupt families and apologized or expressed sorrow? Did Pelosi's son make sure that people who would be in a risky situation if the loan reset at a high rate were fully aware of how dangerous these loans that he gave them were? Did he try to stop them? How much money did he make by convincing people to enter risky mortgages?

I am interviewing for a F&I position right now with an auto dealership. I don't have much if any experience with auto sub-prime lenders and lending. However, I have been in the mortgage industry and have worked as both a loan officer, analyzing credit and assets of individuals and shopping sub prime lenders to find the best deal and also worked for a lender and qualified sub prime borrowers to fund their loans. My question is: are these jobs similar? Is analyzing credit and qualifying borrowers for auto loans the same or similar to qualifying people for mortgage loans? Are a lot of the terminology and concepts the same?

I am senior, finance major and I have been looking at the different options that are out there. Loans and mortgages interest me. I have learned that to become a loan officer you need a lot of previous experience with loans among other things. What is the best starter job if I want to make a career as a loan officer or mortgage broker?

Basically I am in sales now, and it has been a constant interest of mine, I know right now the economy is not great. but I do not care, I still feel there might be a level of prestige in the job, and a definite possibility of making a lot of money. Loan officers, I'm assuming you need a degree , but what about mortgages? I already have my real estate license.

I graduated two years ago with a biology degree. I have since been working as a mortgage loan officer, but my ultimate goal is to get into pharmaceutical sales. Most of the companies that I have looked at require pharma sales experience. How am I supposed to get any experience if there are no entry level positions? They also all require a "clean driving record." I haven't had any traffic violations in three years, but my record is not exatly clean.

I just recently started a new job as a loan officer. I have never done this type of work before. I work for a mortgage company and need to know creative ways to market my services to people who may want to buy a mortgage loan in my area. I've started a profile online and contacted several people in my area but I don't want to stop there. What else can I do besides build relationships with realtors? How do I find the people I need to find? The people who want to buy a home????

I hated being a loan officer so I took a loan processing course online & got my certificate. Now, I've been looking for work with no results. There are hardly any entry level positions because most of these companies want experience in this field. Also, it seems the mortgage jobs have slowed down since the summer started. Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone think mortgage jobs such as loan processing will pick up soon?

I have a new mortgage company and I am looking for loan officers that would like to work out of their homes. I do not want to spend a lot of money for an ad but I would like to give LOs the opportunity to hear what kind of deal we have going on. There is no split, we just charge the LO a $500 fee and $395 processing fee and that's it (no hidden costs!) If anyone has any good suggestions I am open to just about anything, as long as it's not too expensive!!
