 | I want to be a real estate appraiser and have completed my 2 year degree in business administration but am currently trying to receive my 2 year in Real Estate. I want to be a real estate appraiser but I have heard it is difficult to get a training job that allows you to full fill the 2500 hours required for your license. Is it easy or hard for most people to get there 2500 hours?

 | I'm living in Salt Lake City and I'm considering taking an online course to get certified as a real estate appraiser.
So, I'm wondering... is there a demand for appraisers? And, what does one need to do after becoming certified to start working?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

 | I am currently a residental real estate appraiser assisant in New York. I've been working with a family appraisal company for the past 2 years and my boss is very lenient and will "sign-off" on any jobs that I bring in. Can anyone give me advice on how to get appraisal orders from mortgage companies in the area. We cover basically all of NY, and near Jersey.

 | I have owned my own real estate appraisal company for 5 years and I am looking to get a higher paying/more secure job in banking and finance. Where should I look and what can I do. The ups and downs of appraisals is really getting to me. These recent changes are mostly due to HVCC and other government intervention. I am hard working, dependable, and honest and recently my income has been reduced by 75? |

 | I am a real estate appraiser. I had to take courses in a different state for my certification for work. I went twice, the first time I went it cost me $5,000 (between flights/hotel/tuition/food/car) These courses are through the appraisal institute and only help me if I am a real estate appraiser. My boss agreed to help me when I had to take one addditional course and paid the majority of my expenses for the second trip (flight/hotel/tuition). However now our bookkeeper came up and said she thinks it was not a business expense that the business can deduct and that I might have to either pay the company back or that my boss can agree that the cost of the trip was a bonus and I pay taxes on it.
The course does help me receive certification in my job (and granted I could quit my job and take my certification elsewhere) and that is why she says she thought it wasn't a business expense. If this is a legitimate expense how can I convince the bookkeeper?

 | Hey Im 20 years old and I am going to school for generals right now, but I was thinking of just getting a two year degree in something. I was thinking a real estate appraiser. I found a two year program in Seattle Washington. Would this be a good job? Should I just get my AA first in general studies and transfer? I still have about another year or two to get my generals done for a AA Liberal Arts transfer degree. Thanks.

 | I've been considering becoming a residential real estate agent once my daughter turns one. I love real estate so I think I may enjoy this work.
I thought the hours would mostly be evenings and weekends, that way hubby could take care of our daughter while I'm at work and I can take care of her during the day. I realize I might have to have some childcare occasionally during the days if a client needs my help at that time.
Does anyone have any experience working in real estate? Do my expectations sound realistic?

 | I am very interested in becoming a real estate agent and/or appraiser. What is the best way to go about doing this? I am already a licensed insurance agent, and am looking to try something new. I don't know if I should try to get a jod and a real estate company prior to being licensed and they help me get licensed or if I have to be licensed prior. Please help. Thank you.

 | I am a real estate appraiser and it might make the difference between a good job and a better one but is the present cost of the degree going to be offset by future earnings, or would I be doing it just for the personal satisfaction.

The whole Chicago area has 4 job postings for real-estate appraisers. Do you know any schools that I could finnish quickly, and find a regular job? Do you know how can I find job easily once I complete real estate appraisal school?
