Cashier Job Questions & Answers

Many people I know have no problem getting phone calls for job interviews after submitting their application and assessment test. I have applied many jobs online, but I've never heard from any of the places. They are easy cashier jobs at grocery stores. I don't understand. What makes it so hard for me to get an easy job? Do I have to know people who work there in order to get a hiring manager to look at my application? What are the common reasons that people don't get a call for an interview?

I've been out of work for the past 3 weeks... I have a college degree and office experience.. how long do you advise me to start applying for cashier jobs and such..should I wait till say the end of July to begin doing that... so far I'm sending out resumes daily for administrative spots.. the downside right now is I'm running out of funds to pay my bills... and I'm not eligible for unemployment benefits, either..

Ok, so I was born without arms so i do everything with my feet; yes, there's a lot of jobs normal teens could do that i cant (like cashier jobs or fast food jobs) Even though I know the choices of summer jobs for me (i'm 16) are less than normal teens, could you suggest some things that would be available for people like me?

I'm a college student with a long and busy schedule, but also have no money for anything. I'm planning on getting a job but I'm worried I won't have enough time to devote for it. It's a simple cashier job but I'm still worried that I won't be able to balance all my school work with a job. Would it be inappropriate to quit a job after about two weeks if I know it is not working out?

I recently immigrated to the US. I have just started the other day working as a cashier+photo developer+store maintenance guy at an Osco store. I mostly feel intimidated of the cashier job - I mainly fear I would make a money related mistake (until this day I can't tell the differences between all the different US coins) or not give the costumers a good enough service. Any tips you can give me to overcome my cashier fear would be gladly appreciated. Maybe there is any computer software which would help me practice that skill?

Because I'm considering getting one soon, but I'm wondering if there's anything else out there besides the standard cashier job at a fast foo joint or Starbucks... any other tings you can think of? I know the library is volunteer work, but that's all I can think of.

Im just a college student looking for cashier jobs and that kind of stuff. On those applications you fill out, they always ask for your employment history and recommendations. Do I have to ask to put my previous boss down for a recommendation? Or is just ok that i left in good standing?
