how long should i wait before i call an employer back after filling out a job application?

I filled out applications to some retail stores and grocery stores, and i want to know how long i should wait until i call them back, also i had an interview at another retail store about 2 and a half weeks ago. She said she would call for orientation but hasnt called back. Should I wait?
