I am leaning towards taking classes for an associates degree @ The Art Institute, for Fashion Merchandising. Will this be good enough to land a job as a Visual Merchandiser??? Or should I go for my Bachelors in Fashion Marketing & Management? I am 25 and I'm not getting any younger.

I'm interested in pursuing a career in visual merchandising, but I'm very overwhelmed. I don't know where I'd find a credible college where I could earn a degree in this subject. (I live in Illinois) And I wonder if I would even need a degree for this field. I read somewhere that I may also have to have a background in fashion merchandising. Is there anyone out there who is currently a visual merchandiser? Are there any helpful websites out there? Your advice is welcome.

I may be moving to Berlin soon with soon with somebody and am wondering how i go about getting a job there, especially as i don't speak the language (i am learning though). I work here in London as a visual merchandiser so to find something like that would be great, but i was also thinking of doing the TEFL course and maybe teaching, but also unsure of what this allows me to do there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.x

I applied for a job as sales assistant/visual merchandiser and sent out a CV telling them about myself ie: education, internships, experience and very briefly about some hobbies relating to fashion exp: window shopping and trend watching. Today they've called me, asking me for my age (as it wasn't in my CV) and told me to send another email to tell them a little bit about myself. What else should I say?

I am applying for a visual merchandising job. I have had experience in working with Plan-O-Grams. I have also been complimented on my choice of visual organization when I do not have a Plan-O-Gram to refer to. I am a quick learner and would like to express these things in the "Skills" section of my resume. How do I do this? I'm a resume newbie; I'm only 20.

I've got a strong background in fashion and graduated from an Art and Design university. I've done small jobs for Banana Republic but there's a job offer at Tommy Hilfiger for a Visual Merchandiser. If you've got any advice, that would be great! :) Originally I'm from England, but moved to Canada 5 years ago.
