A very good friend of mine who is also a sales manager just informed me that he passed on 2 sales people because they were not technically advanced enough for him. I guess they did not know fully how to use the likes of Sales Force or something similar. What's your thoughts on this? I see people like him getting too caught up in "tracking" this - that and the other and wanting good sales people to fully understand the insides and out of how to use a computer.... The job he is hiring for is NOT computer type sales job by the way.. Would you not hire a great sales person because they weren't pros at salesforce or computer technology in general?

I answered an ad on craigslist, and agreed to meet with the person at a local coffee shop. The Job was advertised as an “internet marketing and sales position” by a private party. I was offered a job to write bad YELP reviews on local businesses such as restaurants, dry cleaners, house painters and automobile service centers. This is how it works; the person who is a YELP Salesperson gives me a list of businesses to bash 50-60 a week. Then she goes and shakes down the business owners offering to filter, remove or move my bad reviews to the bottom of the list for $800+ or - I thought about contacting the police, shouldn’t this be illegal? Racketeering?

The first time I walk in (yes I am in the market), I want to strictly look over the car, test drive it, form an opinion of it and possibly come back the next day to purchase it. My question is, do you think that saying, "I want to test drive this car and that's it today, pressure me and I'm out" is sufficient motivation for the salesperson to do what you'll say, or will they pressure you anyway? What should you say if they do? What if you think that you still want the car?

This is not the question of like vs. dislike sales people. It's about why we do not like them. Some sales people are nice, but we still do not like some of them.

I was wondering if obtaining an offer from an automobile company would be a good job for a 20 yr old woman in college? Do they make good money? Is the job secure (for 2 years until I graduate)?

I have been in manufacturing management for a number of years and I am burnt out. I am seriously thinking of changing careers. In fact I have an interview tomorrow for automobile sales. Does anyone have experience as a car salesman? I currently make really good money, Do you make good money in auto sales? With the economy the way it is would this be a wise career move? Understand I really am unhappy with my current job and MUST make a change. The dealership I would be working at is in a large city in NC.

I would like to do something from home (computer research, etc) but I don't know where to begin. Does anyone know how I can get started in this for a legitimate business? There are so many scams out there. I am not looking to get rich quick, or get paid to do nothing. I just want to supplement my current income working from home. Serious replies only please Thanks!

In June, I will be graduating from high school. And I will be graduating with an honors in business -- having completed my school's business course. I was wondering what different careers are available in this field. I tried googling this, but nothing jumped out at me. The only careers I found were accountant, finance, etc. Can anyone help me find something interesting within the business field? Thank you! :)
