Dealers Sales Manager Job Questions & Answers

I had an interview at my local MINI dealer and the sales manager told me that the average salary is $80K per year and his top salesperson earned $160K last year. Is this realistic figure? Does anyone know if this is a good job? I would really appreciate a response from someone who has experience working for a MINI Cooper dealer.

The company I work for is looking to hire a new sales person. The qualities they really want to find is someone with a really good work ethic, who is very honest. I have heard of a "test" that some places use that poses questions to judge the honesty of an individual, but I don't remember what the test is called. Can anyone think of some questions that might be good to ask? Thanks in advance!

My wife works at the DMV she is growing extremly tired of the constant abuse she has to endure from a**hole customers. She has served title clerks at the counter and has had owners of dealerships say they need to hire somebody. The DMV being a state job has great benefits, but the B.S. makes it almost unbearable. What does a title clerk position pay and is it worth it to make the switch?

I am considering a career change at 55. I have very good customer service and communication skills. I dress well, and it sounds like something I would like to do. I have been told it is very competitive, and most dealers have very high expectations. Can I hear from individuals that have sold cars.

My brother and his wife bought a car over the weekend from Bob Roman Honda in Lafayette, Indiana. The manager took them into his office, they signed a binding contract for the purchase and the loan (I saw it) and drove it home. Well on Monday the dealership called and said they needed to come in and "rewrite" the contract. When they got there, they were presented a loan with almost 2 percentage point higher and required an additional $750 Well since they didn't have any more cash to put down they couldn't buy the car. The next day the dealer called again and said that they needed to pay for the mileage they drove the car. It already had about a 1.000 miles on a new car and they put on an additional 100 on it. Guess what, it came to $750 and the manager said it could be added to the loan. How can they renegotiate a contract after the fact?

I have been involved in various aspects of the car sales for over twenty year. I have owned my own auto consulting business, and worked for dealerships as both a salesperson and a manager. I was recently canned for not selling enough cars (not too surprising given the economy). I need to find a new job but would like something new. Any suggestions?

Dealerships have been selling a lot of cars for the past month. Many people with old car in their driveway came in and trade for car with more fuel friendly. Car dealerships across the nation selling more cars than 2 months ago. GM, Chrysler and other manufactures say they will make more cars and more jobs to meet the demand for CARS program. My questions are What will happen next to car dealerships and manufactures when the Cash for Clunkers end? Will consumers buy cars and dealers sell more and manufactures make more cars?

I've been talking with my dad about my college schedule and what to do with my life. He really wants me to go into business. I am only interested in it for job security. I have a feeling I won't love it. I grew up thinking, "Do what you love.", but that doesn't seem realistic anymore. I flat out told my dad: "I am only interested in it for job security" and he replied, "That's why you go to college." I feel like I'll get depressed if I work in business my entire life.... Is "do what you love" a lie? If so, I've been lied to about so many things...If only I knew what would make me happy, maybe I could find a way to make it work.
