Lost my permanent job (redundancy) in Sales in 2012 and I found last wk an IT company on Google. I contacted directly the Sales Manager for a Sales job advertised on their website starting asap. Pay is basic £16k + uncapped commissions (10?f the sale) + bonus. One wk later, the company called me for an interview. During the long interview with 2 other directors, I felt that they wanted me onboard. The Sales Manager said that normally interviews last 15 min. They have 40 employees, £6m turnover, staff stability, decent management... The Directors called me an opportunistic and strong-minded person because a Sales girl left last Friday and another one is leaving for maternity leave soon. They are not recruiting, although the leaving Sales girl advertised her job with her salary. I am the only candidate. No offer has been made at the interview. I did not mention the salary, convincing them that I can do this challenging job. After the interview, I told them (lie) that I have an interview with a similar company with a similar role paying £26k. The Directors mentioned that they need to chat about whether or not I am going to fit in the team and if they think I am going to stay. They wanted me to make the right decision for my life. They are expecting mature people. Always been a contrator before. The Sales Manager will call me Thursday to have my feedback about my other fictitious interview. He told me that I can make £45k easily. They need a proactive employee like me, because the other sales people wait for existing customers to call them...

Do you think they have finally realized that the COT wasn't the way to go? Or is it possible that they finally realized that not all drivers can drive a loose race car? Maybe ticket sales and advertising revenue have dropped enough to force them to make the races more exciting. It just seems to me that they did everything they could to make everyone live with the COT and now, all the sudden, they are willing to make changes.
