I see these great ads for pharmaceutical sales jobs, no experience required, company car furnished, paid training and a decent salary plus bonus/commission. There has GOT to be a catch. What is it?

I will be graduating college with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and a minor in Business Administration at the end of July. I am looking to get a pharmaceutical sales job in Alabama or Northwestern Florida (Panama City, Destin, Pensacola, etc.). I was hoping to get some tips from someone in the business, and hopefully make a contact or two. I have a good resume and cover letter-or as good as you can have fresh out of college-but would like someone to point me in the right direction. Also, I wouldn't mind suggestions for companies to apply to. Some that I have applies to already are Pfizer, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKilne, Lilly, and Allergan. And for those of you who would like to tell me I shouldn't work in pharmaceutical sales.....that isn't the question I asked, is it? :)

I'm starting community college in a few days for either a Business Administration or Business Marketing degree. Which is better for Pharmaceutical Sales? Not only which is better for pharmaceutical sales, but which is more useful and what is a better major in general? I always want to know I can find good work. Secondly, as Pharmaceutical Sales is my goal job, what are jobs that would look great on a resume before I apply to Pharmaceutical companies? All help is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to get into pharmaceutical sales and want to know the best way to do this. I have no direct experience in pharmaceutical sales however I do have 3 years of outside sales experience plus 15+ years of direct customer service. I have a BS in Social Science with a minor in Gerontology. I have medical terminology and had started out working on my nursing degree before changing majors. I have worked as an executive administrative assistant, accounting clerk and HR assistant up until the last three years and want a new career path. And before it is suggested that I have to be somewhat attractive, I modeled in high school and college. So with all of this said...Any suggestions or leads? Any and all help is greatly appreicated! Thanks in advance!

Do you have to have a college degree to get a job in pharmaceutical sales? I have been hearing different answers, although I know a college degree always helps. I would love to begin a job in this field, but have no clue how to go about it since most of the requirements call for experience.

I’m interested in making a career with pharmaceutical sales reps. I will graduate Jun 2009 with B.s in pharmaceutical science and minor in Business management. If I don’t have any experiences with sales, is their probability that I can get a job with pharmaceutical sales rep position? Any suggestion where I should start, what kind of jobs can I get if I don’t get sales position? Because most of pharmaceutical company requires 2-5 years outside B2B sales experience?

I've been thinking about trying pharmaceutical sales after I graduate college in a few months and I'm looking for some information about the job. What exactly do you do on the job? What is the schedule like? Do you like your job? I'm not looking for sarcastic answers that tell me to bribe people with free lunch...I'm looking for some advice from somebody who actually works (or knows someone who works) in the field. I give 10 points :)

I'm 13 living in the UK, and I want to be a pharmaceutical sales representative when I'm older, and I've been researching the job on the internet. However, whilst searching this, I have encountered another role: "medical sales representative". I was wondering if there is a difference between the two jobs and if so, what it is. Thanks in advance.
