 | I applied for a Sales Associate job at Anthropologie and got an email later saying that if candidates are interested in employment to come meet with the managers between 2 and 4 pm. I don't know if I should wear business casual attire like I would if I were going to an interview or something a little less casual (no jeans, of course). Help!!!

 | I called a local retail store about a part-time sales associate job and they said they need someone for a part-time keyholder position. The only retail experience I have is a few months, which was volunteer work/community service a few years ago. I told this to the women on the phone and she said to come up and apply for it anyways and get an interview. I thought these positions were for experience people in retail? What are my chances getting the job?

 | I am wandering what kind of chance I have at obtaining a job as a vet assistant.
I know that experience is of course preferred but not required. I have none other than I took a vet assistants class for a few months but stopped taking the class in order to become more flexible for my current job. However, I have a good background with animals. I have taken part in 4-H, volunteering at the local humane society and have had animals all my life.
I am 18, still a senior in high school, but I get out at 10:40 everyday because I've gotten most credits. Therefore, I am very flexible. I am currently a retail sales associate & have no problem holding a job.
What are my chances of getting this type of job & how difficult is it to get into this type of job? What could raise the odds?
I appreciate your answers!

 | I used to work in retail as a sales associate/manager. However, I LOVE clothes and fashion. I love putting outfits together and "styling" things with accessories etc... What kind of jobs can I have around this? I have never sewn and it doesn't seem like something I would enjoy doing, that is why I am leaning against fashion/design school because it's not that I want to design the clothes, I just want to take the clothes and make adorable outfits.
Help anyone?
But how do I become a personal stylist/shopper? I think maybe working for a magazine too but how would I get into that field? Possibly a fashion magazine or maybe designing outfits or putting together photo shoots for magazines?

 | I'm wondering what to call my job on a resume. I'm a cashier in various shops at a park. I work at the till, do some cleaning, provide customer service, and close out the shop at the end of the day. That wouldn't be a sales associate would it? Would it be more appropriate to say 'retail clerk'? What are the definitions of these terms? Thanks!

 | I applied to a sales associate job at H&M which is basically just a cashier and they said that I don't have the qualities for the job. How am I suposed to get retail experience when stores tell me I'm not even qualified to be a cashier? And how am I supposed to get experience when I can't get hired anywhere to be a cashier?

 | So I was really excited to start working at this company (as a retail sales associate). Although I haven't "started" yet because the store is just about to open from remodeling, I have been to orientation and stuff and worked twice stocking shelves. I hated it and realized that I do NOT have the time for this job, because it is conflicting way too much with my school work. However, the first opening day is tomorrow and I am scheduled to work. I just can't do it with school. How do I quit? Obviously I can't give two weeks notice, I don't want to have to work two more weeks. I know I'll have to probably do it over the phone.
I need help with what to say! What do I do if they yell at me? I normally am very responsible and a good employee, but after coming home crying because I hated it so much, plus having so many school conflicts, I just don't think I want to work there a minute longer. I realize that I will never be able to work for this company and that it is kind of a mean move, but I feel that I have to do it.
I REALLY need advice and would appreciate any and all help. Thank you so much!

 | I am currently a full time retail sales associate and I have recently been offered a promotion. I was offered a position as an assistant store manager at another store about 15 minutes away with the same company and I am not sure of the pay I should be expecting to receive. Right now my hourly rate of pay is 8.50 hourly [:-(. If the store managers starting salary is 36000 a yr. how much of a raise should I ask for? Since I am relocating should I use that as a part of my negotiation?
