I have both positions available in my area and was wondering if anyone knew the difference between being a "full-time sales support representative" and a "retail sales consultant." Are both sales positions? Are both base+commission?

It's difficult to get a job these days, and I have a job at the moment but it's only occassional work, and I'm looking for full time. But to get that job I lied about working at a relevant place, which worked. So far I've got on my cv; care assistant, stockroom assistant, vounteer sales assistant, waitress, cosmetics consultant and charity fundraiser . Only stockroom assistant and cosmetics consultant is a lie, everything else is real. I'm ideally looking for a job in retail sales, but I'll settle for anything. What jobs are there that I can tell a little white lie about to get a job in anything? Don't say they'll find out about the lies because they don't ALWAYS.

Is it to do with marketing for a specific company? Is it commission based, involving attracting customers and getting based on the number of people you convince to sign up? I ask this because I company is interested in giving me a job as a sales consultant and I don't want a commission based job like I had a while ago, I didn't enjoy it.

I applied online Monday, attended a 'hiring event' and was offered a job as a sales consultant for ATT/Cingular. It pays $12/hour plus commission. I'm 18 and starting college, and it seems a bit too good to be true. I want to major in business and feel I could be an excellent sales person, but I read that you must meet a certain sales quota. Is this easy to do or could I easily be fired? I also received a call from Verizon today, wanting to set up an interview. Does anyone work at either of these stores? I'm just concerned because it seems like I was hired too fast and the interview was held at an ATT hiring event in a conference room at a nice hotel. There were quite a few people and I'm just wondering why they are hiring so many people. Could someone please tell me what the catch is to this?

I will apply to Burberry next month to be a sales consultant or just to work on the floors in general. I would like the know what the interview questions are like. Also, what clothing or style should I dress in. Should I keep it black & simple with heels? Lastly, is there anything else at all I need to know? I've worked in retail for a maybe a year & a half so I have experience. Will I need a resume?

I just quit my job to move to another area. The owner of the small business that I worked for asked me to continue to help her with some consulting. She loved all of my ideas and we collaborated really well. Plus, I've had 3+ years of experience doing just plain old retail. I'm ready, willing, and able to get on the "salary" side of the retail business. And I really think this opportunity would help me achieve an ultimate goal of being my own boss. So, how much should I charge her to be a "consultant" for her business and not just for her customers' sales?
