I'm thinking of completing an Electrical Engineering degree and was wondering what people are making just out of college and those that have been in the field 5+ yrs. The main careers I am looking at are Design Engineer and Technical Sales Engineering. Any input from people with those jobs would be great!

I graduated with a mechanical engineering degree. I had a feeling in during my junior year that engineering is not for me, but didn't want to change majors. I completed two engineering co-ops and I truly can't see myself as an engineer in terms of a career. What are my options to obtain non-engineering jobs??????

I am a sophomore in High School with no plan after school. I was brought the idea about engineering so i looked up the different kinds of them. This was the only one i found that i would have any success in. I am pretty good in algebra (not geometry) and i have fun working with money but i don't know exactly what a Sales Engineer does. So my question is: What do they do? What do you have to be good at? Is there a better engineering job then this (not artistic)?

I am currently a Math teacher and have a degree in math. Im thinking about exploring other options such as engineering. I am very hard working and I think would do well in an engineering scene. Do you think I can pull it off?

I know that you can get almost any job with a Mathematics degree, and I also that Mathematics graduates have the LOWEST levels of UNEMPLOYMENT, but which jobs can they get exactly? Specific details please? I know that you can be a maths teacher/lecturer, and that's obvious, but I really don't want to go into teaching. I also know that you can have a job in Finance and Accounting, but they are also obvious.

I got my degree in history from Cal because I wanted to be a teacher, but I've always loved politics so now I want to go more towards that type of career. I want to be on the inside of it all, and I know most politicians have law degrees, but I don't plan on applying to law school anytime soon tbh, though I could. I'm not going to lie though, I have no idea what kinds of jobs there are for people interested in politics except for the big ones like political organizers and stuff. My cousin is older and was the secretary for Hilary Clinton when she was on the Senate from New York, but I haven't spoken with her in years! She's in her 30s and I barely just turned 24. I interned for the Obama campaign a few years ago, and I was a volunteer on his campaign in 2008, but that was so long ago. @Broyalty, that's what I'm afraid of! :( If I could go back I would definitely have chosen a different major!

What are you experiences ? What are your options ? What career did you change to ? Why did you change ? Engineering is not that good in North America right now -- what other careers is an engineering education good for ?

I am an engineer, and have been fairly successful in my career.. However, I'm not really that excited about engineering and haven't been for some time. Does anyone know what else I could do with my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering besides engineering? It's hard to let go because it pays so much better than anything else I could do, but it's also slowly destroying my soul. Thanks.

I am a freshman at a community college right now. I am thinking about majoring in Electrical Engineering. I consider myself as good in physics, chemistry and math because i was getting okay grades in high school without studying much. Now that i put full effort into these subject, i should be able to do better. But looking at all the classes i have to take for this major to transfer to a UC, it seems very decieving. I want to know what are the good and bad about electrical engineering. Thank you for all of you that read this far.
