Hello folks, I have an interview tomorrow with an engineering firm in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The title of the position I will be interviewing for is technical assistant/ field technician. Honestly, I really don't care how much they pay me. What I am really hoping to get from working for them is the experience. I want to learn and become a more competent environmental specialist in the future. Money is at the bottom of my list. However, I know I will likely be asked to give them a salary range. This is one of the toughest question for me. If I say 35000 to 45000, would that be a good range for a technical assistant/ field technician in Edmonton, Alberta? Thank you in advance!!

I have a degree in geography, and I would like to know if that would be sufficient for a job as an environmental scientist or sustainability specialist, or something like that?

Okay, so - my main goal is to do something to help the world/people/animals (like many people!) I considered becoming a doctor, but I am not sure that's for me. (Making decisions is not my strong point!) So, I have considered an environmental sciences major. Would this be practical? Would environmental engineering be better? ANY suggestions? I am interested in stuff like the Peace Corps. The only problem with engineering is I don't really care how things work... I want to go out and make a difference.

I would like to get involved with the law enforcement boats dealing with immigrants and drug. I would like to obtain a job with Border Patrol or with the DEA when im done with my tour. What jobs with the coast guard will help with what I want to do.
