It is hard to find a place to live for a mathematician who is between jobs in New York city. I am scared of voilence and I am small. I am a vegetarian who loves food and coffee. My brain needs a peaceful environment. I also need to do my daily run. I also want some friends who can run with me in the central park and mingle with coffee. Who can give me some pointers where to live in the city. Thanks in advance!

I'm doing a project in chemistry class about jobs relating to chemistry. I was the last one to get to choose, and there was only one left, which I knew nothing about. So I asked if I could do something to do with bombs. But I can't find ANY websites relating bombs with chemistry. Please help! 1. That website did not talk about bombs. At all. 2. I know that there is a chemical reaction, I need sources to describe the work of a bomb technician.

I'm a mathematician. I left my last job because my old boss got some big promotion overseas and the new boss didn't like me. She made things difficult and unpleasant for me so I walked away from the job. I am quite good at figuring out mathematical problems and applying or even developing new algorithms for various purposes and I have won many prizes for my work. The general advice I have received re: job interviews is. Be yourself and be honest. So if they ask me this question, should I just answer it honestly? Both managers were women.

I know that engineers and mathematicians tend to work together on projects in group settings. I was just curious if anyone knew how much each profession generally makes annually relative to the other? In other words, how much would a person with a BS in Civil Engineering make compared to a person with a BS in Mathematics? I haven't really been able to find any comparison in salary between the two. Would anyone happen to be familiar with the two areas?
