I've heard that physicists sometimes lose jobs with the economy and cut backs, and also that teachers are not in as much demand. If I have a degree in math, am I looking at slim pickings with jobs? I'm in the US.

Jobs with a little more prestige, like for instance: physicists. Unusal jobs not alot of ppl think about and that earn a reputation. Thanks!!

I know engineers often get promoted to managerial positions or even start their own businesses, etc. Is this the same for physicists? I suppose this would apply more to an applied physicist than a theoretical physicist. Additionally, is it possible or feasible for a physicist to get a job as an engineer? Thank you!

For religious reasons, I might not be able to be a doctor. My life long dream was to help people in the field of medicine. Are there any other jobs that do not require medical school to help in science? I'm considering psychology or even engineering but are there any jobs in drug development or fields similar to that?

I am willing to work my way all the way to PhD level in any non-medical or environmental course. I simply wish to know of the jobs which will give me over $100k Australian without having to work in a medical area or have to live in an obscure mining location. Having a salary of $60+ within 2 years is preferable. Thanks in advance.

I'm planning to attend a college that offers Air Force ROTC and graduate as a second lieutenant. However, I'd like to know what kind of jobs would be available to me once I do graduate. Could I be a doctor? If so, would I have to go to med school at some point? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm doing a project in chemistry class about jobs relating to chemistry. I was the last one to get to choose, and there was only one left, which I knew nothing about. So I asked if I could do something to do with bombs. But I can't find ANY websites relating bombs with chemistry. Please help! 1. That website did not talk about bombs. At all. 2. I know that there is a chemical reaction, I need sources to describe the work of a bomb technician.

Not religious based. I am very curious (even at a young age, currently 17) about the origin of life, and its purpose. I have been like this since I could say the word Universe. What jobs would lead into amazing discoveries? And yes I know there will be unfun work to go along with any career like this, and I am willing to do that too. I am an honour student, very dedicated to school, perfect attendance. I am involved in many volunteer programs, sports, a local political group etc. A great public speaker and a hard worker. Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!

These are two of the careers I want to pursue. But I can't choose between them. I plan to do a physics major and chemistry minor, it would be awesome if I were to be a physicist. But I want to be a magazine editor more because it will suit me a lot more, it'll be more fun and easier and I love writting and other artsy stuff. But what degree should I do to be a magazine editor? I don't want to do an english or journalism degree.. Because then what was the point of choosing science subjects in A levels? (I also took english language) So what should I do then? I don't know what do when I go to university.
