Hi, I am currently a freshman in undergrad working towards a degree in math. I was wondering what education is required to become a quantitative analyst? Is a PhD required, or will a Masters in Financial Math do? Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks!

I AM COMMENCING MY STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG (SOUTH AFRICA) IN 2007 AND I WILL BE STUDYING BSC FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS.NOW I FIND THAT AFTER COMPLETION OF THE DEGREE YOU WILL BECOME: RISK MANAGER, QUANTITATIVE ANALYST, PORTFOLIO MANAGER AND I NEED MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF THESE CAREERS AND HOW MUCH DO THEY GET PAID? I DON'T KNOW IF I'VE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE BECAUSE I NEVER DID ACCOUNTING DURING MY SENIOR YEARS.

I'm a senior in high school and the concept of a hedge fund is rather intriguing I've read that it is very quantitative nowadays, which is one of the reasons why such a career is intriguing to me I plan on majoring in engineering and have no idea what to do afterward to reach this goal help!

I have a degree in telecommunication engineering (2nd class upper) and i am a CIMA passed finalist(Chartered Institute of management Accountants, UK). currently i am working for an investment research outsourcing firm in Sri Lanka as a quantitative analyst, working for an US investment bank client. I am planning to come to Singapore. Could some one advice me which career i should take(telecom or financial eng) and which one is best paid and easy to find job in Singapore?

Hi, i have just finished my Degree in banking and finance and was wondering what are the pre-requisites or relevant job experiences that is needed to be a fund manager junior? or a Security analyst? I can't seem to find any reference to know what are the relevant experiences needed to take this two positions! i would prefer to take a path that would be able to lead me to what i wan to work as.

Obviously most serious research jobs are out without more education, but I'd like more options. Teaching (elementary or high school) is the only one I could think of. Thanks.
