what are acceptable reasons for a concealed pistol permit in NY?

I am a Security Guard and i want to become an armed security guard but i want a (carry concealed) NOT (possess/carry during employment). I want to carry it when im not working. So what are some good reasons that make sense. P.S i live in Warren County if that Matters

The fact that you are a Security Guard won't get you any additional/special consideration in New York these days. New York has the some of the highest limitations and Restrictions for Concealed Carry Permits in the nation with the exception of California State. Basically, since you live in a state that is not shall-issue as far as concealed permits go, unless you have political connections, the best reasons in the world to carry a gun won't mean squat to most of the morons on gun boards.

I would think living in New York would be a good enough reason to get a CCW. You realise if you lie to the court about your reason to get one, they'll find out and you'll be in trouble?

NY CCWs are granted on a highly discretionary basis.... In my opinion find someone that has one in your area and find how they got it....

Unless you know someone, CCW in NY state and NY City are almost impossible to get for the common Joe Blow.
