My local town is accepting apps for a police dispatcher. Anyone know what the requirements usually are? The ad doesn't say anything. Just drug screening and background check. Also, I was stopped for no insurance almost a year ago and received court supervision. Is this a big deal?

I'm applying for a 911 dispatcher job and have already completed my personal history statement, now I have an interview with them and they want me to bring my resume. I'm not sure what to include on my resume I only have pertinent jobs listed not little jobs I had early on in my career that for whatever reason only lasted a few weeks or months. Should I add those jobs to my resume in this case? What would you suggest? thanks

I'm talking to them about using my G.I. Bill to receive an associates in criminal justice. I understand that if I was looking at law enforcement, I will still have to go through their academy. But other opportunities such as probation officer, corrections, and police dispatcher are attainable. How successful are they at finding students who graduated, a job?

Hi, A friend of mine has a job interview for a corrections job tomorrow but he has used a significant amount of sick time at his current job as a police dispatcher. He is really optimistic about this new opportunity but they may be coming in to conduct an investigation before he's considered for hire. What is the best way for him to respond to an inquiry about why he has used so much time. Ps. He doesn't have doctors notes for most of the time he used. Thanks

I have a perkins loan, and i just got offered a position with the state police as a dispatcher. I am not sure if it will count towards my perkins cancellation for public service. I know it stated that the job must be intregal to the mission of the service (which i think it is) but i am not sure if this is true? Does anyone know. And yes it is a full time permanent position. Thanks
