I was offered a security supervisor job withing a high rise building, and the thing is that there is a big possibility that I may get hired on with my sheriff department which could be another 6-8 months before I actually start the academy, I have a second job at night but need a job during the day to help pay off tickets, is it selfish for me to accept the postion, knowing I will not be there that long? What would you do?

Has anybody ever taken this course that was made by the NYS Department of Homeland Security? Do you receive an official certificate? In your opinion is it worth it to have this when applying for jobs? I am currently the Head Security Supervisor at my company, so I do have experience to back it up. Also, what other additional security courses are available to take?
