I take admissions phone calls for a for profit school (one of the ones currently getting in trouble with the government) and just yesterday the office manager decided to close the office and have all of us work from home. They swear it's because it's cheaper but it sounds like they just want to phase us out. Is this a pretty common tactic to lay people off without actually laying them off?

Are there any potential dangers to getting him a prescription for chantix on my health insurance ? (i socially smoke so it wouldnt be a huge stretch at the docs office) Could it increase my insurance costs to admit that i am a "smoker" to insurers?

I am currently 18 years old. My height is 5'10" and I weigh about 120 pounds. My bust measurement is 34", waist is 24", and hips are 36" (I don't know if i'm measuring hips right - do you measure around the widest part of your butt or your actual hips? I've heard different things hahaha). I really want to model, except that my nose is kind of crooked, but other than that, I've gotten tons of compliments about how thin I am and how I should be a model. So to pursue that route, what should I do? How do I start a portfolio and get myself out there to agencies?

Can you give me websites, castings, agencies, how to prepare for them, tips of course, and anything else that's helpful in this industry. I have gone to some agencies and I have figured out that they are scams. On thursday I'm also going to Wilhelmina Models, but that's only for modeling. Do you know of any acting agencies. And can you just walk up to a corporation like telemundo and ask them if they have castings? Thx for the help:D

I know that we liberals wanted universal healthcare like Canada and France but Obama made an effort to make everyone happy including the seniors and republicans. I don't think he's a sell out but others have. Also could this public option be little baby steps towards universal healthcare? What evidence can republicans give to prove that this plan is a disaster now anyway?

My biggest fear about Obama is that he's going to pull some racial BS, or create even more anti-white discrimination in our society. My other fear is that he'd side with the Islamic world over the Western world. If I had confidence that he wasn't going to do one of those things, there's a better chance that he'd get my vote.
