What could be the problem? I've tried changing the needle, re-threading the bobbin and upper thread, taking the bobbin case out and putting it back in.

I have an old push mower that I purchased new in 1984. I've always taken good care of it and it works just fine for the job I need it for. It's the standard Briggs & Stratton pull start, gas engine. A year ago I cracked plastic cover of the gas throttle on the handle (duck tape to the rescue). This year when I started up my old friend for the first time I noticed the metal piece that regulates the flow of gas to the engine wasn't moving as well as it should (this is the metal pieces that moves back and forth when you move the gas handle throttle. The two are connected by a wire that runs the full length from the hand throttle, down the handle, then connects to the metal piece that regulates the flow of gas to the engine). A little WD-40 worked at first, but now the wire that connects the handle throttle to the gas regulator has broke loose from the gas regulator. Now I have to reach down and move the gas regulator by hand which is a pain in the bum, especially when you have to have the regulator just right to start the thing. There's nothing wrong with the mower, and I hate to spend $100+ to replace it (and I'm not going to pay Billy-Bob $75 just to look at it), considering that I use it to keep the weeds cut back on a hill at the back of the property. The job is not so bad, the blade just keeps the dirt on the hill stirred up and me and the mower come way covered in dust, therefore, I don't want to use my good equipment. I'm trying to replace the whole fuel feed assembly (throttle handle piece, long wire to that connects to the fuel regulator, and the movable metal pieces that control gas flow (noticed yesterday there's another piece of flat metal and a couple of springs also. Probably alot more I can't see). The biggest problem I'm having is finding a parts manual online. You'd think all gas powered engines are the same . . . Wrong! Seems as if Briggs & Stratton has 100's of models out there. First, this can't be rocket science. Does anyone know if the parts I've described come in a kit or does someone know the proper name for these parts. I understand I need to get my engine model number first, but has anyone ever run into a site that has mower schematics for printing (that would really answer alot of questions)? There's also a ton of videos on line of how to fix a gas powered push mower, but you have to find the right parts first. Thanks for any help you can offer. Live and learn I always say.

Ok, I purchased my Nikon D40 a couple months back for my birthday. I love this d**n thing. I can't seem to put it down. I have come to a point where I feel like I would benefit a lot from a stronger zoom/lense. Looking at either a 70mm-300mm or a 55mm-200mm. I have been shopping around for a while now on the internet and completely confused. If someone could clarify somethings for me that would be great. 1) Is the Vibration Reduction (VR) feature worth paying 2x-3x more than a lense without? because the lens that came with my D40, the 18-55m seems to output extremely crisp photos w/o the VR feature, or maybe it's just my amateur eyes. 2) Besides the material (plastic vs metal) used, what's the main difference between Nikon, Sigma and Telephoto lenses? 3) Besides the material used and VR, why are there $150 and $4000 that have the same zoom strength of ie. 70mm-200mm lenses? What's the main difference/ picture quality. Finally, can someone suggest an all around, bang for your buck, lens for my D40 that doesn't break the bank but also allows me to take professional pictures, or as close to one as I can. Web links/sites/model #'s all greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best answer gets best answer choice!
