Isn't the answer 3? Because, assuming the displaced US citizen worker would have paid 20?ax ( fed + state): The illegal worker took one job, and the jobs lost due to the export of half his pay results in the loss of 2 additional jobs. So if half the 12 million illegals in the US work and half of these send half their earnings out of the country, thats A total of 12 million jobs lost ( i e the 6 million illegal workers jobs plus an addtional 6 million jobs lost due to the export of earnings). Thats 10?f our 120 million US workforce. Thats the primary reason why we have 8-10?nemployment now. Why then, is it a good idea to sanction such problem by granting amnesty per the gang of 8 proposal? Patrick B Assuming you can do 8th grade math. When a US worker earns 1 jobs worth of dollars and pays 20?ax (Fed + state) he is left with 0.8 jobs worth of $ to purchase US made goods by other US workers who will then spend (0.8)(0.8) jobs worth of $ (after 20? tax to purchase additional goods made in the US by other US workers who will then spend (0.8)(0.8)(0.8) jobs worth of $ ( after 20?ax) to purchase additional US made goods, etc. If you use your calculator to add up the resultant US jobs created you will find that, Jobs created when one worker spends his after tax earnings= 0.8+0.8x0.8 +0.8x0.8x0.8 + etc =4 So if this worker sends half his earnings out of the us, then 2 US jobs are lost ( i e shipped out of the US). So: * if 3 million illegal workers ( half of them) spend all their money here, then they deprive americans of the jobs they take . JOBS LOST ---------------------------------- 3 MILLION * when the additional 3 million illegals take us jobs they continuation of the above additional detail * when the additional 3 million illegals work they also displace 3 million US workers PLUS each exports 2 jobs ( 6 million more jobs) for a total of JOBS LOST ------------------------------------------ 9 MILLION ______________ 12 MILLION = TOTAL US JOBS LOST

I want to work in a downtown corporate sky scraper. What jobs do most of those people hold? My ambition is to have that nice window office with my secretary. I'm not going to brag or anything. I know that I have the ability to become whatever I want. Currently I'm a mathematics and operations major--but I don't really want to work in a warehouse type of place forever. So I was curious what many of those workers jobs were that land them in the corporate headquarter with a nice window office! Thanks!

It shows my age, I've held 2 jobs recently related to office work but have a huge gap with nothing from 1998 - 2004. I worked at Walmart out of high school and in 2004 after a divorce I went back to college and held 2 different student worker jobs. During the gap, I was a stay at home mom. Can I just leave Walmart off and eliminate that gap?

I feel like this is a foolish question but I am rather perplexed.I worked at Auburn University as a student worker but it was as a favor and not awarded by the university. I am filling out some paper work for a government job in town, not affiliated with the University and it says I cannot apply if I have worked for a federal agency in the last 18 months. I know that Auburn is a state school so it is considered apart of the state government but is that federal because of student worker jobs?
