Desktop Support Technician Job Questions & Answers

I am currently studying Business and Applied ICT at sixth form, I am finding it boring and I am just fed up with it. Would it be worth quitting sixth form which is a lot of work to do some Microsoft certifications such as the 'Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician' certification. Then once I have passed that exam I could build up more Microsoft certifications. Thanks for your advice. Ps, how hard is it to pass the 'Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician' certification? What can I do with it?

If I were to take this course, http://www.metrotech.org/majors/Information_Technology/Desktop_Support_Technician.html ; would I have a shot at stable employment? My alternative is going into the medical field, but this is what I love. I'm In Oklahoma City If That Helps.

Obviously, there are "traditional" jobs for people graduating with a BA in Computer Science, such as jobs as a software engineer. I'm wondering - what types of "non-traditional" jobs are there for Computer Science BAs willing to get a graduate degree, either in computer science or another field?

I only have a high school diploma. Working right now on my degree in Computer Science. I really want a desk job of some kind but not doing phones all day. I can take phone calls but not all day. I'm just so ready to be done with warehouse jobs and into something that has more growth potential. What do I need to do in order to get out from doing warehouse jobs and into getting a white collar job? I wouldn't mind working for a law firm doing entry level work for example.

I am currently a 1st year irregular college student taking I.T. I transferred schools and my majors never got credited. But it's okay because i am slowly getting the logics in programming in Java. This next semester i am taking a System Analysis and Design(SADSIGN) and i am getting nervous because even though i am pretty good at logics, i am not that good at coding. But since it is a case study, we will be on group, we will be four i think. Project manager, Analyst, Documentation, and the programmer. I am asking what jobs i can get after graduating I.T. because what if i graduated I.T. and still not that good at coding, i am hoping that there will be a jobs that will require less programming. Like Database manager or in Multimedia or in charge of Network. So is there jobs that doesn't require hardcore programming skills?

I've always had a gift for math, and I enjoy hands on activities, particularly when it comes to computers. I also have a gift for graphic designing in many of my computer classes. So my question would be, are there any jobs out there that would appeal to a computer loving math genius? I really love the quote, "If you love your job, you never work a day a your life", and I would like to aim for that ideology. I've also heard that computer programming involves nothing but writing lines of code. Is this true? If so, that's not a path I want to take.
