When you have a behind desk job in a firm, you can write about it on your next resume for job hunting. But let's say I have been a model for several years and wanted to apply for a white collar job. My years of experiences as a model can be described as " on the job training " or " PR- like work". What is the best description I can use to write on my resume in applying for a business job. A short and brief phrase.

I'm going to college right now, but I want to start at something, even if just a basic desk job, for the time being because I hate retail and fast food work as it's dead end boring repetitive and going nowhere. How can I go about finding offices to work at and applying for them? Or finding private employers?

I'm curious to know how much someone who works at the front desk and handles check-in/check-out services along with many others makes. I assume it's an hourly position. Looking for pay rates at hotels under the brands Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, InterContinental, Radisson, Wyndham, etc.

One of the worst recessions in history, outsourcing of jobs, the global economy crashing and the high cost of gas has nothing to do with it. It is all Obama's fault!

The Tea Party representatives of Congress were elected to bring about change concerning the creation of new jobs, yet not one piece of legislation has emerged from the Republican Congress regarding this topic. Instead, they're "busy" reaffirming our "National Motto". Explain yourselves!

I recently applied for a job at a local YMCA as a customer service representative. I have 5 years experience in that field. I retired from our local phone company, and am 55 years old. I also worked behind the desk, at another gym, for 2 years. Upon completion of interview, I asked that I be called either way upon their decision. They said they would call but never did. I have since seen that jobs have been filled by two young guys that probably haven't been out of school for 5 years. I truly feel that my age counted against me. Does anyone know the proper course of action I could possibly take?

I graduated from university last year and worked at a small company after, couldn't stand it because it was too far away from my house and there was no room for advancement, so I quit. My position was an Administrative Assistant, where I performed accounting duties and answered phones, that sort of thing. Right now I want to find a job at a bigger company, preferably a bank, but the only ones I seem to be qualified for are call centre jobs (the ones where you sit at a desk with a head piece all day), or customer service representative positions (the ones where you sit behind a counter all day and get yelled at by disgruntled customers). I would like to know from anyone who has any experience with these types of jobs whether if it is even worth applying to. I want to know if I stick it out is there any room for advancement within the company, what these jobs are really like, how much the pay is, etc.

So our school does those stupid fundraisers and I never did them, but this year part of the money we make from selling stuff (cookie dough, flowers, candy, etc) goes toward our $500 chorus trip, so I thought I'd give it a shot. But what's the easiest way to do it? I don't want to go door to door.. And neither of my parents do desk work, so it's not like they can just bring it to work. Ideas? Thanks!

I was wondering what a "Customer Service Representative" was? Are they the people that go around in the store, offering suggestions and such? Because, I wish to do that or be a cash register person of some sort?

I've had mostly work-study jobs. Didn't do much customer service apart from working at a help desk for student activities. Have never been a at job for more than a year. I think my lack of confidence will sabotage me.
