I am getting ready to go back to school and would like to get into the information security field. I would like to prepare myself for taking certification exams like Security+ Network+ and later advanced certifications like CISSP an C|EH. Both of those require a minimum of X years work experience in the field, so my question is "What is an example of an entry-level information security job." and also "What degree program would most prepare me to achieve my goal?" Would it be more beneficialcial to attend a university or a specialized tech school?

I have a job offer from a reputable mid sized security company. I just graduated college with a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology. I was told to think about how much money I want, and the truth is I don't know. I want to be realistic but not under-sell myself. My question is how much does a Network Security Analyst with little or No experience make? How much should I ask for?

I know that you can get almost any job with a Mathematics degree, and I also that Mathematics graduates have the LOWEST levels of UNEMPLOYMENT, but which jobs can they get exactly? Specific details please? I know that you can be a maths teacher/lecturer, and that's obvious, but I really don't want to go into teaching. I also know that you can have a job in Finance and Accounting, but they are also obvious.

I've looked up job possibilties...careers I might go with in the future, but I'm wondering if I've overlooked any possibilities.

I'm really interested in computer science and programming, as well as the security field and computer security. I've already taken some college classes (in high school) for a degree in mechanical engineering, when I thought that that was what I wanted to do with my life, but I know now that my real passion is in computers. I love security and computers, and hope eventually to work for some kind of a software developer, or maybe a security firm as a pen tester. I'm going to be starting college for real this fall, and though I'm pretty certain that a degree in Computer Sciences is going to be what I want to pursue, I'm not sure what the best/most relevant...(I'm not really sure how to put this to make sense) degree that I would want to pursue would be. Are Computer Sciences degrees indicatory of an IT job? (Because though I could do that for a while, I wouldn't want to do it forever) and what types of degrees/qualifications/certifications are security employers looking for?

I just watched an episode of Criminal Minds and I found the work EXTREMELY interesting. I was set on becoming a psychiatrist, but now I'm thinking of changing career paths. What different types of jobs are there in criminal justice? Which ones pay the most? Also, I'm just going into high school next year. What types of courses should I take if I plan on doing this and what will I major in in college? Thanks so much
