I read this article about how impossible it is to be an Art student because of the money and time professors demand. I don't have much money at all and how will I pay for my stuff if I don't have time for a job? That's not my question though. I was wondering if anyone can give me a brief summary of their experience at an Art College, warnings, what it's done for them and any helpful hints / advice they have to offer. Thanks. =D I don't need a long explanation. ANYTHING will be helpful.

I have been offered a job as director of a multimedia development project. My bosses want to create a software to teach people to speak Quechua. So I will have to hire photographers, illustrators, writers, proofreaders, a multimedia development team, a film crew, actors and an editor; I must coordinate all of these agents. The entire project must be ready in 4 months. I have no idea how to establish my fee. HELP! Is there a formula?

And can you tell me more about this course? I've been thinking about it for some time now. My first choice is actually Information Technology since I'm fine with it because it's a practical job and I'm alright with computers, but I want to try something different and also something I'm interested in. I could say my artistic level is a little average, and I suck at drawing. Any thoughts/advice?

I spent about 2 years learning Graphic Design in college, now I am switching over to Visual Arts and following my passion after my professors told me to follow my passion. What should I do now? Is college essential for my success to be an artist? Or can I be self-taught and take non credit college classes here and there?

I work out of a corporate office, and my overarching manager works out of San Diego. She has apparently refused to move (from what I've been told), and she directs the communications from San Diego. It's been a burden on many associates and they are very unhappy with the situation. The social media manager also operates out of San Diego and will post pictures of shirtless men, curse words, and really inappropriate content in our social media. Many associates have complained to the VP of marketing, but she won't listen to anyone about how bad it is. I've never had a conversation with the director of communications (the one that works in San Diego) until today since she was here for a company meeting. Long story short, she has provided the creative department with a large amount of creative direction, but she has never held a creative roll, nor went to school for design. My and my creative director have graduated from the exact same college. Shouldn't my own creative director be directing the creative? I am very new to the company, and where I see it, am not qualified to direct the creative. I don't have enough experience! Today the director of communications pulled me aside and said I was causing problems in the company (I'm a multimedia designer) and that I don't understand how to work as a team. I was really offput by what she said, and she told me if I don't start working as a team I'm going to have a real problem on my hands. I don't have a problem working as a team. I've worked really super well at my job for over a year. My office loves me and thinks I'm doing an incredible job. Why is she being so mean?

I want to move to California after high school to attend college. I want to do something artistic. I want to help change the world in my spare time, or even as a part of my job. I hate offices & I don't plan on having to wear a suit. I don't really care about being rich or successful; I just want to live comfortably & maybe start a family someday. What should I look into? I'm not sure :/
