Technical Assistant Job Questions & Answers

I applied last week for a library technical assistant job for the state government that has a closing date of February 27, 11:59pm. Do you think it would be wise to call & check the status of my application? It's an entry level job but I don't want to appear like a pest. I really need this job.

Hello folks, I have an interview tomorrow with an engineering firm in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The title of the position I will be interviewing for is technical assistant/ field technician. Honestly, I really don't care how much they pay me. What I am really hoping to get from working for them is the experience. I want to learn and become a more competent environmental specialist in the future. Money is at the bottom of my list. However, I know I will likely be asked to give them a salary range. This is one of the toughest question for me. If I say 35000 to 45000, would that be a good range for a technical assistant/ field technician in Edmonton, Alberta? Thank you in advance!!

I am currently thinking about pursuing a BA degree in Administrative management. I am under the impression that this is similar to Administrative Assistant job. I know it deals with office management and also some of the technical aspects of an executive secretary. I was wondering because when I get my degree I want to move out of Michigan and get a better job to support me and my family. Help please.

I LOVE my high school musicals. I honest-to-goodness LOVE them. I am in LOVE with performing arts! I can't act or anything, but I would love to work behind scenes! I want to be a technical assistant, or as we like to call it, a "techie." :) However, my dad has a grudge against theater. I'm trying to come up with a list of the benefitting factors of working in performance arts to convince him. I do already have a lot of reasons down but I won't list them because that seems unecessary. Please help! :) Thanks in advance.

I wan't to get as many certifications I can get. There are jobs out there that might seem simple and you say to yourself "Hey I can do that" but they requre you to get certified in whatever it is. A good example : CNA (certified nurse assistant) the job seems easy enough but you have to be certified. can someone think of any real good ones.

I've always been extremely interested in musical theatre, and although I love acting, I'm not a good singer or dancer. I was wondering what other jobs I could do to be involved in it and how I can pursue them. And I've also tried stage crew once and hated it, so I know I won't like that.
