What are the most common jobs for parents living in the country to have? Would it be farmers? buisness owners? Try to hold off on the red neck jokes. All trolls & spammers will be blocked & reported. I live in a mostly rural, partly suburban neighborhood. Most people in my neighborhood have at least 1 or 2 acres, I have 2 acres. My dad is a guitar player & golf teacher. My mom is an eye doctor.

I am currently pursuing a Masters in Information Systems. I currently have a BAS in Technology Management and an AAS in Computer Networking. Right now, I work at a small private school, obtaining grants, researching new programs, working with parents & students, and fundraising. I got this job after staying home for three years and being out of the industry for 7. (I used to be a IT Manager for small telecommunications company that went bust in 2001). I really want to get back in IT (especially for the $) and I want to make sure that the education that I am getting will be marketable. I just don't know what types of jobs to go for. Can any one give me some ideas? I live in Atlanta.

We had children in the last decade so my wife was a stay at home mom. In her mid 20's when she was working she was a project manager making $80,000 a year. She managed more than 50 engineers during her busiest schedules. She has a 4 year degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Telecommunications management (think networks and call centers). She doesn't want to get a job making $30,000 a year. She feels her intelligence, experience, and value all exceed an entry level worker's salary. The problem is she has a huge gap. We've bought and sold a few rental properties, managed tenants, repairs, collected rent. We are thinking about making up some back story about all this to justify that she spent a decade at home. This has us feeling uneasy. Any idea how she could make entry into the work force at a respectable (above $60,000/yr) salary?
