Light Or Delivery Services Truck Driver Job Questions & Answers

I am currently studying to get my CDL permit and afterwards my license, i know experience is a great thing to have for any job out there but is it necessary to find a job as a truck driver? also i figure that being healthy, not being on medication, and knowing how to read maps and guides is a must but are there any other uncostly ways to learn more about truck driving and certain skills that would make me more valuable to whichever company i choose to work for? links are much appreciated and any tips from experienced truck drivers is greatly appreciated.

I know a lot of people who have petty thefts but they all seem to be working at a store or in retail so back to me : I have a misdemeanor in petty theft that i got last year and was never notified that i had a court date so i missed that as well and got issued a warrant. Now that i live in another city, i have been trying to find a job but was wondering will the petty theft charge and the warrant get in my way of getting hired at most places (stores in the mall, retail, stores etc). Since i am still a student majority of the jobs i apply to are retail, but is it possible for the background check to come back from a retail store saying i can still work their despite the petty theft record? I wish i could know, so that way i could stop applying to all these places.
