 | *I am taking classes online.
Here is my history:
12/03-2/05 US Army
Deployed in Iraq
Heavy Equipment Operator
4/05-4/06 OWBF (a furniture place)
Local Box Truck Driver
8/06-12/06 Werner Enterprises
OTR Truck Driver
12/06-Present JB Hunt
OTR Truck Driver
I would really like to start working for a local company so that I can be home more often but I am concerned that when I finish my Bachelors degree next summer that no one will want to hire me because I have switched jobs too many times.
What do you think about this? Will moving to one final truck driving job make a difference in whether or not I can get hired as a software developer?

 | I would just like to try it out to see if it is something I might want to get into. I have been a city slicker all my life. What I am looking for is a job that would keep me busy all summer and be self sufficient.
I am 29 years old, in good shape. I have been an OTR truck driver, but my most recent job was retail.

 | My husband is a state roads crew truck driver. He is away from home 5 days a week, 6 months a year.
He pays his living expenses out of pocket and is not reimbursed by the company. This is his first year on the job and we were told that he can claim Per Diem for his expenses on taxes. How do I do that?
I know where to find how much to claim based on the city or county he was in but where in my taxes do I claim that??
Any help would be great!

 | I am interested in getting into truck driving. I was wondering if anyone knows of any companies, in the Dallas, Fort Worth area, that you will train you and place you with a company that does regional instead of OTR trucking for the contract period? I have a family and don't want to be gone for long, long periods of time. I would like to be home weekends. Can't afford truck driving school though but OTR really isn't a big option for me. Let me know if anyone out there has any suggestions!

 | I want to go back into trucking because the job I have right now pays minimum wage.
2 months ago I quit OTR truck driving because I was extremely homesick.
What can I do different this time so I can actually drive a truck OTR for 3 weeks at a time?
Will it help if I get a notebook with internet connection?

 | If you had the choice between somewhere along the lines of a computer programmer and a UPS truck driver. Both pay good but the truck job is easier in access, more stable in this economy, and requires less thinking.
Would you go into the computer field because it IS harder, meaning the culture and evironment is well disciplined and something to be desired compared to the truck job? You would still take the harder path even if it meant less pay and a high chance of lay off?

 | We are thinking of moving to Washington state, if my husband can find a job (hes' an OTR truck driver). What are the better cities to live in? I prefer the western part of Washington. I lived on Ft. Lewis in 96' for a year, so I know that part of the state to be beautiful...any advice would be welcome...
We'll be moving from Florida, where the cost of living is very expensive, so Im looking for something a little less expensive, real estate wise, & a place good & safe for kids.
