Apparently choosing the location is a critical part of this project and it should be researched in-depth. This city has to provide everything you can think of for a population of 50,000 and have an industry as well as housing, food, water, transportation, jobs, an education system, waste management, etc. My teacher said it would be stupid to choose a place like Miami or Buffalo because of the climates. So, what would be a wise place to choose? We were thinking California. Maybe Malibu or a little more north like Santa Barbara. Any suggestions?

Does he not understand this? Does he not understand that the price of everything will go up.. food, clothes, goods... That this will bleed even more well paying manufacturing and transportation jobs away... However, he is probably going to push through a massive increase in welfare payments so that his primary voting block, the useless inner-city ghetto Blacks, will not be inconvenienced. What is Obama's DEFECT?

As we can see in our planet, there is a lot of water on it surface with their variety of deepness. I just Wandering if there is a planet entirely cover by water, what happen to the climate if the distance to the sun, the size of the planet, the atmosphere just look like earth and the deepness of the water are almost the same in all the area . In our planet the climate are changing fast because the variety of land high and water deepness that created many different temperature and pressure? How about if some of human move there and create a civilization. What kind of cultural live would they created, what kind of transportation, job, food, or other thing that we do in Erath? I’m Sorry if I ask to many question.

This is a quote from another user and frankly it's pretty scary in my opinion. " The government doesn't pay taxes, it collects taxes to serve the common interests of the people of the United States. What are the common interests? Food, shelter, heat, electricity, water, education, police and firefighting to keep the community safe. A thriving economy where all people can afford a living and be safe is a common interest of the people. What does Obama always talk about? The people." ...Is this the thinking that got Obama elected? Maybe transportation, jobs, and health care should be rights too... It seems a few answerers have not read the details of the question. ( I know it's complicated) It was NOT I who said the quote. I came across it and couldn't believe my eyes. What is the deal with people thinking the government is there to help them???

I am 18 years old and never had a job because my mom never let me because of school (even though I was doing good) and my safety. I am African American and I have no job experience, there is no longer an afirmative action, and because of the economy it is not many jobs, I have filled out many apps online since gas prices are high and have limited transportation. What jobs besides army jobs should I look into? I live in Detroit, Michigan and right by Dearborn, Michigan.

It seems like when I interview with a temporary agency they seem to always ask if I have my own transportation to job sites. I never get asked how I will get to work when I interview at an actual company. When I see job ads for temporary agencies I often see that it will say company not access able from public transportation. Is there any reason why an actual company doesn't ask me my way of getting to work but temporary agencies do ask?

The stimulus bill has allowed states and cities to hire more personnel than they would have done without the abundance of federal aid. Department of transportation jobs, police and firefighters are just some of the examples of jobs that are available because of the stimulus. Obviously one of the benefits of the stimulus is that it helps save current jobs, however the new jobs created by the stimulus on the state and local levels might be unsustainable. To illustrate, if 30 police officers are hired with the aid of stimulus money, what will happen when the stimulus money expires? Are those officers laid off, or are the cities forced to pay their wages. It's counter intuitive to increase services when the outlook will force a definite decline in those same services.

I am educated (MSc degree), I just cannot find a job! I would want the lowest amount of unemployment, I just need enough for transportation to job-seek. I will live with my parents, rent free, til I can find a job and get on my feet. How does one qualify for unemployment? I would not want to be on it for long, just until I can find employment.

He has no internet, can borrow a vehicle on a limited schedule, has kids to support and wants to work very badly. I've given him too much already and can't afford to help any more. Tried some charities and whatnot, but that only goes so far. Does anyone know of a way for him to get cheap transportation, and a job around northern rural Indiana (Knox) making an hourly rate which can handle the expenses of commuting to work a long way? I'm considering asking Oprah :) since I've already helped his family since Christmas and it has cost me about $5,000 at this point!
